I drive a manual. I like it. Bought my car that way because it's enjoyable to me and I've literally never owned a car that wasn't manual.

But sometimes I wish I got DSG srs. Manual is old, outdated technology. Modern automatics shift more efficiently.

I had many vehicles that were standards, and find there’s much more control .
Unfortunately I have sold these vehicles, but both had T-10 Rock crushers . The Z28 was awesome to drive ,and to put it into perspective,my TransAm with an automatic just didn’t provide the experience of the Z28 .
Was going to change the TA over to a 6 speed tremec transmission, but didn’t want to molest it .

Although the engine was a factory 350 SB, it was still a lot of fun to drive .

My 84GMC . Also a stick , 3.73 gears , 6” lift , 35” Mud TA’s .

My 78 TA . Sweet looking ride , but an auto

Ya I miss them dearly ,and if I held on to them for another 5 years I could have made a profit.
The truck got an insane amount of attention. You couldn’t get in it without getting a compliment.
Then you’d drive two blocks and get ten thumbs up . No one ever remarked about the TA . Not that I care , but I just found it interesting how the GMC drew so much attention .
Had some cool ideas to . Was experimenting with leds , and tried mounting them behind the rear bumper so they were hidden , but reflected off the rear diff cover when you hit the brakes .
Kind of a third brake light that splattered red light under the truck .

And another pic of truck

Modern autos shift faster and smarter than any human could. Which means you are not only faster in a race but more efficient with fueling.
Nothing wrong with driving an automatic these days assuming you can also drive a manual.

Imagine thinking driving a manual makes you special LOL. Literally everybody in Europe can drive manual.

I have both and have had manuals nearly my entire life until my last car, but an auto is far more convenient in traffic. I prefer a manual for fun driving on twisty roads and ****, but most people spend the majority of their time in the car commuting, so auto makes sense... some of the modern dual clutch autos are very good too. There's nothing hardcore about sitting and constantly riding a clutch in heavy traffic, it just makes you stupid. Auto is better for the majority of people's usage.

I do think everyone should learn to drive in a manual and at least be able to drive a manual though.

nobody cares that manuals shift slower.

if you had a 350hp manual vs a 300hp auto, you think shift speed would make a difference?
