I don't like blaming one person for a national problem but I think it's safe to say that joe chiden is to blame for this...

Real answer to combat this is to try to get promotions or a new job at a new company making 10%+ more. So if you make $20/hr, try to land a gig making $25/hr. If you make $60k/yr try to get into something that's like $80k/yr.

Recent inflation alone should serve as a motivator for folks to try and level up in their careers, whatever that may mean for them.

Strong this.

They put their foot to the floor since 2008 and have not let up since.

When they have tried to even go 90% throttle, the economy almost crashed.

Fortunately for us, the world recognizes the dollar as the world reserve currency. We'd be absolutely fooked if that were not the case.

Crazy how Trump and Biden letting the Fed print trillions of dollars and giving tons of handouts that reduce low-wage workers from actually working is leading to terrible inflation. How could we ever have seen this coming???

Fast food has been something I don't have much to do with for quite awhile. Then we had the 6 days without power. And I got a job at a place w/no on site spot to eat. Next in a kind of crazy situation clearing a house.

First thing I noticed was most "meals" being about $10 now. Small drinks at most fast food places are now $2. In MI and though the menu board still says "everyday values, $1 $2 $3" there isn't much for $1. Maybe just the soft drinks? Was surprised to see a hash brown priced at $1.69- for one little fried potato patty. I've seen $1.69 for an ice cream cone there too.

I go to the grocery store every week and the only thing I have noticed is there aren't as many sales on beef or ground turkey as there used to be. A lot of chicken and produce is about as cheap as it has been for awhile now.

just curious but in a scenario where currency collapses, how would you go about trading precious metals for things? Unless are we thinking of holding onto metals because they are (hopefully) recession-proof and we still plan to cash them in for dollars down the road?

Everyone in this thread is much much stupider than they think. Most of this inflation is transitory. The entire supply chain got wrecked last year and in many parts have not recovered. The pandemic is still raging in every country not named the USA.

bunch of low IQ mouth breathers suddenly economics PHDs and inflation experts.

its comical.

When will people realize corporations DON'T PAY taxes.
Their customers do in higher prices.

BTW; I've been watching the Democrat party 'FIX' America's problems since the 1960s.
They have yet to solve any of them.
They've been solving the civil rights issue in this country since 1964 since the passing of the Civil Rights Act.
How's that been working?

Along comes President Donald J. Trump.
He starts getting things done and fixed.
Lowest unemployment rate for African Americans, Hispanics and women!
USA exporting oil!
USA energy independent!

What happens? The left works overtime to get him out of office.

The left creates problems then wants us to vote for them to fix the problems.
She approached with her hand extended,. I slowly stepped back. "No" she said. "I just want to shake your hand. You're amazingly gorgeous." As she walked by me she copped a biceps feel.
