We are basically watching a war between the elites and the rest of us plebs. It's easy to see what side Elon is on.

This is all coordinated bro. It's no coincidence that Yellen has been talking about it since Biden got elected. This really is looking like the final battle for BTC.

This is why ENS is the next logical step. You can resolve eth domains to a hash that returns a website served by something like IPFS.

The root servers for DNS are placed all over the world and owned by 13 different organizations. Wouldn't surprise me to find out the U.S. has the ability to cuck them at any time.

No one knows. But this is some of the worst FUD BTC could get, and it's mainly because Elon has no idea what he's talking about (thought he actually does...he's just playing a role).

Bitcoin is already regulated as much as it can be. What other regulations do you expect besides outright banning users from buying or selling on exchanges?

It's non-mining.

This either kills the bull run, or non-mining cryptos are about to go on a pump after the dip.

Still possible:

Capital gains tax increase, specifically for crypto.

Income on crypto mining tax increases.

Electricity companies charging more for companies or individuals who are self-declared mining crypto.

Centralized exchanges requiring US citizens to KYC any wallets that they transfer to, like the Trump administration proposed...

Personally I don't think this is the case. Too much noise blocking what's going on. Banks all over scrambling to offer BTC. Multiple ETFs in the works. Tether FUD has been crushed.

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/05/bitc...rm-nydig-.html

Centralized gov coins mean absolutely nothing. People keep bringing them up without any core argument about why it effects Bitcoin anymore than the 100s of FIAT currencies do. If they could have stopped Bitcoin they would have a decade ago. Occam's Razor; they can't stop it. They could barely stop Napster which was started by a few broke teenagers. Even after they successfully shut it down there were others to take its place. The only thing they could do is to ban citizens from buying and selling Bitcoin. Luckily we have data from multiple countries to show that does absolutely nothing to stop people from using Bitcoin.

Thank you Hal Finney.

One element people overlook is the innovation / competitive factor. States are already looking to give miners tax breaks:https://www.coindesk.com/kentucky-ho...ning-tax-break

If the U.S. wants to remain in its position it will have to embrace the new tech. The next logical move is countries storing BTC in their reserves. IMO that will be the final wave of adoption to reach the full S-Curve and stability.

It won't render Bitcoin to zero long term, as long at it remains nothing more than digital gold and speculative asset, because Gold and speculative assets are not a threat to currency. It's just a store of value and a way of a return.

The environmentally friendly FUD is a real issue, but IMO unironically it can be good for crypto. BTC is literally dinosaur tech compared to other crypto projects. So I sincerely hope BTC is flipped this year.

I think this may have helped the bullrun, by cooling it down for a while.

BTC will remain in it's SoV phase as long as the opportunity cost + tx cost > standard cost of exchange. This is why you see certain countries using Bitcoin as P2P cash as opposed to "Digital Gold". Bitcoin is currently the superior form of currency in quite literally every way except fungibility. However due to it being software this is fixable.

The issue isn't if it's going to be banned or shutdown, the issue is if it's going to be regulated.

Just like they are slowly regulating or increasing the tax on anything that is seen as being energy inefficient, the same may happen to Bitcoin. Possibly pricing out anyone but well funded corporations from being able to mine at a profit. Then Bitcoin will effectively be in the hands of 'the elite' (which is what I believe is one of their goals, as we've debated in the past).

There are plans around the world to outlaw non electric cars in various countries by 2030. IMO they will likely go after crypto mining now.

Not every way.

Transaction fees for Bitcoin make it terrible. It's still better than a bank to bank transfer overseas though, in terms of moving lump sums. Terrible for microtransactions, which is why Bitcoin Cash is gaining ground in developing nations (e.g. The Philippines and Thailand). Unfortunately though this FUD also puts Bitcoin Cash in the crosshairs.

$14.35 transaction fees to give $10 to a family member overseas in the Philippines or Thailand is simply ridiculous.

https://ycharts.com/indicators/bitco...e%20year%20ago.

Bitcoin wins on liquidity options though. No doubt about that.

The recent report published has stated that 70% of Bitcoin mining is done with renewable energy. Square/ ARKs white paper has shown how BTC incentivizes clean energy.

Dude... Let's be real... Since when have facts mattered to politicians, the MSM and 'the elites' agenda?

Elon and Tesla have a vested interested in pushing for renewable energy initiatives.

Look at COVID man... Do you honestly believe that they were 'following the science'?
