Also it’s very masculine and I prefer more a women to have more ‘girly’ hobbies, so if the desire to get a bike came out of the blue for an otherwise feminine woman, that would be a minor issue to me as well.

Are you going to get tatted up too with your new biker chick lifestyle?

Are we talking about bicycle? Lol, I ride my bike in the pavement, not cruising with the cars so it's not dangerous.

I mean I believe you, no reason not to.

But there's no reason anyone should die in a motorcycle safety/instruction course other than the reasons I listed. They don't do anything high speed or even remotely dangerous in those courses...injured I could maybe see. Dying? absolutely not. Unless maybe some retard in a car drove through the course at high speed and ran them over. Unless you mean those students died while riding outside the course, which sure that can happen. But again, ties into ego/overconfidence because why the fuk would you be riding without proper instruction or knowledge on how to ride?

When they say "won't make it to the end of the course" they mean people will drop out.

This is complete BS and you just exposed your ignorance. Surely, you meant they died while being a student in the course, not that they literally died IN the course. It's a low-speed skills test: start/stop, ride in a circle, ride over a 2x4, and a figure-8. Anyone that dies doing any of that shouldn't have been anywhere near a bike in the first place and your point is invalid.

Injuries? I could see it. Minor bike drops in a beginners course performing low-speed handling skills are inevitable.

SOURCE: I've actually taken the course and you'd have to be the dumbest person alive to die in it. I cannot be more dead serious when I say this: if the person you are referring to died IN the course, they shouldn't have even been allowed to drive a car. They are that stupid, it would be a travesty of justice to include them when citing the dangers of riding.

I also include cyclists in this category too btw.
I fully plan on continuing to ride. It's painfully obvious you have preconceived notions about the dangers of riding which are skewed - not unfounded, but skewed. The statistics effect riders disproportionately. There are those that ride their whole lives having only ever dropped their bike because their foot slipped on some gravel in a parking lot. Then there are those that die on their first trip - usually through negligence, beginner's ego, lack of attention, or a fatal concoction of all. Riding is more dangerous because a minor fukk up that won't cost you in a car will cost you on a bike. Depending on riding style and frequency, my odds of dying in a MC accident are just as high as yours in a car if you spend more time on busy roads or out late nights.

So, since you can't put a hard percentage on my chances you have to look at all activities. Where do you draw the line for parents? What percentage is an acceptable percentage? Should we never go boating? Don't go to the ocean? What if you draw the line at 5% but the activity you and your spouse want to do is rated by the CDC at 6% mortality rate - do you just not do it? That's how asinine it is to live your life that way. Literally EVERYTHING is a personal calculated risk and there's nothing selfish or irresponsible about it.

How about, instead of passing such sweeping judgment on my devotion to my kids you just commit to not being a half-asleep cager and watch for motorcycles - it's riding season.

Been in the same spot Rabbit.

Brought up the Motorcycle topic to my wife and it was an extremely hard no, zero hesitation. I respect her stance on it. She had a relative almost die on a motorcycle. We have two kids and her opposition is completely safety related.

Riding a motorcycle isn't a dangerous hobby assuming you know how to ride, but it's the other drivers that make it so risky. You can be the best rider in the world but you can't control all these idiots texting/eating and driving. The population's driving skill and awareness is at an all time low these days and it's really not worth the risk.

Then the instructor failed because he never should have allowed it to go that far. I took a beginners motorcycle course. There was a guy that had no business being on a bike. The instructor basically kicked him out of the class on the first day when it was apparent he was a safety concern.

Also, none of the women passed the final test, which is the same test they give you when you go to get a MC license...

Tits and anal is a more effective solution if you're a woman. I realize you say it's a hard no and it's good that you respect your husband's wishes, but as a female with um, ample assets, you should be able to "get him off" his hard no. Men aren't difficult to figure out.
