Assuming you're in the US, I was under the impression that the IRS wasn't taxing crypto 'buys'. I could be wrong but you're taxed when you trade an asset. There's nothing there to be taxed when wrapping BTC. It's a net 0 either way.

Aye, spent several months under 40c (17c low) in summer 2018. Easy to pick winners in the cold of a bear market, though - nothing really stands out and then when you find something you know will be multibillions eventually, you just ape in with everything you can scrape together and wait. Understand why people fud, ignore it all, keep stacking, and wait. Simple as that, really - of course, picking the right project is the key but I feel it was pretty obvious at the time, if one had heard about it. Nothing else of that calibre was out there, Gilbert was a man who meant business.

But right now QNT is outside of my risk appetite, I have to say. I'm not actively encouraging people to buy at this price; it went 2500x from lows to highs this cycle, and in 2021 alone it's pulled 45x against BTC. Will it keep going? I don't know, maybe. It wouldn't surprise me if it did. But on the balance of things (TA, big releases/news very soon, crazy euphoria in the communities) it's a bit hot for me. Think of it like when BTC passes 100k, would you really be telling your mates to buy then? I mean, it could still go to 200k or 250k but... just gets kind of sketchy.

Up to you guys what you do with it; selling is everyone's choice to make depending on how they like to play things. Bear in mind that the privilege I have for buying so early and going in so big is that I get to play it safe at the end - so I ain't telling no brah to sell, but I ain't telling you to buy atm, either. Again, this all depends on your approach, timeframe, strategy, personal disposition, etc.

I'm quite interested in CVX and CRV lately as well, as mentioned - DeFi stuff is always popular and I think they're decent charts + solid incoom while waiting for moon.

As for "the next QNT"... well nothing is going to make you 1000x's now at this point in the cycle anyway, tbh. Sorry for newbrahs! You can still make solid gains, though, and set yourself up well. Got to think fairly long term. If it takes a few years to get deep into 8figs is that really so bad? You're talking 10's of 1000's per day averaged out.

You usually have to interact with a protocol. So Uniswap didn't tell anyone they were coming out with a token. Anyone who traded with there ETH wallet recieved 400 UNI tokens. Every wallet that interacted with the UNIswap protocol received tokens. LPs received tokens based on how much liquidity they provided.

Lots of protocols do this now. I used dydx precisely for this reason, but didn't get chit probably because I'm a U.S. cuck.
