I'm not too far away from paying off my house, having 500k to my name, and joining the USPS for the benefits and coasting through life (srs).

I work for the USPS at one of the largest NDC's as a PSE MPC. It's the easiest job I've ever worked in my life. I literally pick up boxes and drop them into sacks for about 10 minutes, then fuk off for 15 minutes. Long as your job is taken care of, supervisors leave you alone.

Stories about just getting drunk on the reg at work and rolling home and slapping his wife around, waking up apologizing and doing it all over again. Covering for his boys constantly wrecking forklifts all drunk and chit, banging the gutter trash females that worked there. Apparently the females are absolute cum guzzlers, sucking dick for a bump and chit to get a lift during a shift lol.

I *think* UPS starts a couple bucks lower for package handlers like 15/16/hr but it might have changed recently.

No idea about Fedex tho. Imagine it's the similar.

If you're not adverse to hardwork, all of them are pretty ez options if you're having trouble finding jobs that pay more than 12/hr.

Bolded for emphasis. That was the point I was trying to make. It's the type of job that "Should" pay min wage cuz it's ez as ****, but it's 18+ with full benefits and hard as fuk to get fired =p
I was laid off before rona and had to take a job at UPS to make ends meet. I started off driving a truck. You have to pass a couple driving tests, do a few days of training, and pass an oral exam, but it is all easy. Literally slept 5 hours before the exam, didn't study and passed. Starting pay is $20.50 and you are in the Union. All benefits paid and a pension when you retire. The drivers that work overtime at top rate make $115K+. It is back breaking though. Everyone that works there loses weight in the beginning. You work 60 hours a week and when you start you are what is called a cover driver. You cover other drivers that call in sick or are on vacation, so your route is different almost every day, which makes it a little stressful. No idea where the businesses are you are delivering to. No idea when they close. No idea where things are in the dark. Anyways... its a great job if you have no skills. One of the best to retire early with a pension, but I was happy to leave.

Yeah, definitely not the case that the majority do, but I’m sure if you get on the right night shift with a group of guys with a code… some real chit going down lol.

Knew two mail carriers that were alcoholic sloots, I didn’t get the sense they drank while on the job, but better believe they were picking up on the way home.

Was at the gas station a few weeks back and some lady probably in her early 40’s and cute (top 10% for her age) but looked a little weathered was in front of me at checkout in full on USPS uniform. Counter lady asks her what she wants, USPS looks around at the pony shots (like 200ml I think? 2 shots basically, smallest bottles that can be sold in my state), tells her she’ll take the Grape 99 proof ones. Counter lady asks how many? USPS deadass says “6” all casual lol. Could tell this was a daily routine.

130 lb lady, 12 shots of basically 100 proof liquor on a casual weekday. That’s the equivalent of 15 shots of 80 proof vodka. Bet that lady was a real hellcat in bed at around 7pm, srs. Lol.

I think people are misunderstanding the importance of benefits + overtime. And if you have any level of intelligence and can just keep your chit together and not be a fukk up, it’s pretty easy to get into lower staff management there and still be a fuk around.

Guy I knew was close to retirement, in his early 50’s, had blown countless stacks on booze and Pepsi over the years. Said it was probably close to $150k over the past decade. (Boozers and weekend yayo users aren’t blowing outrageous stacks, it’s a steady cash outflow, $15k per year post tax money is still serious money)

Still had about $300k in retirement, decent equity in his house, a couple so-so rental properties with tenants, nice truck paid off. Said he was clearing $80k+ gross annual, somewhere in the $60-70k on base rest from overtime.

I guess there’s some vets on disability at USPS straight ghosting and it’s common? That or getting double disability from USPS on top of military? Some kind of hustle apparently.

How many times does it have to be explained we aren’t talking about the fukking carriers.

Do you think everyone that works at apple works at the apple store because that’s the only people you see on the daily?
“Bro that dude works for apple, must suck being in retail”
-Why’s he got a Tesla then?

Obviously not the same, but still. There’s IQ/Basic skills tests like reading a fukking package and if you fail you become a mail carrier. It’s bottom tier intelligence. I’m sure it’s not much different at UPS/FedEx.

I was a superviser there for a few years. Was awesome. There were guys that had been moved around the company and been there so long they were making 100k to load or unload boxes from a truck. The union is awesome.

Every time I go to the scf I see 90% of the workers doing jack chit and like 2 or 3 actually doing something. Lot of friendly people, but also lots of mail pricks and then some that seem more like husks than humans.
Entire NYPD should go on strike. You'll see then how quickly the mayor changes his tone.

It’s not a bad path at all. I know a guy who was a complete loser junkie, landed a job with USPS and now he’s doing well. It’s definitely easier than doing a 5 year tradie apprenticeship starting at $15/hr. I would consider the post office if not for the vaccine mandate.

Problem is I'm disabled in a way now that makes working for the USPS probably impossible, but I actually worked on the Siemens team that created the automated letter forwarding. The sorting facilities were fun to hang out in IME. Tempted to go work as a SWE there actually. They seemed to have really chill jobs.
