You should do a full marathon soon

I run 4 times a week, 3 short and one long while increasing mileage every week.

However due to the fact I kept spraining my ankle this was my first long run in almost 2 months srs.

Only been running since December tbh.

Training at half marathon distance by myself srs, I’m suppose to to do 16, 18 and 20 mile runs as it’s part of my programme although cos I’m a few weeks behind in schedule so might not do the 20.

My official full marathon is in 6 weeks in time.

have you already ran (shorter distance) races before, or will it be your first time in group?

if the latter be careful about starting too enthousiastic, it happens without even realising when you're not used to running in a group (common rookie mistake)

and like Ben said you will meet the man with the hammer, there's no way around that but if you can bite trough it gets a bit better again

and obviously food and drink are key but I guess you're already training with that (right?)

Expect to suffer - a lot. A full marathon is VERY different from a half. You gave yourself very little prep time and if you're already fighting injury just expect to finish the day, possibly even walking the last bit.

Like another poster said, I hope you're training with calories - you need typically 300-500 an hour during a full marathon or you're in for a very bad time. A half you can push through because it's under two hours.

Nah never done a race in my life srs, the marathon will be my first.

Yeah will try not to get too carried away on the day, my main goal is just to complete the marathon.

I typically have some oatmeal with bananas and some whey for slow release carbs before my runs, but yeah was thinking about getting some gels for on the day.

It's not bad but it's not that good either, miscers are just gymcels who do no cardio so they're easily impressed

If you went to army basic training you'd be slightly better than average

Those who do long distances and are fellow circumcels...how do you keep your dink from chaffing when doing significant mileage?

I suppose so it comes down to perspective.

If I posted my physique and lifts on a running forum they’d all think I’m jacked and super strong.

Yet on the misc my physique/strength is average at best.

It’s hard to be elite anything you do whether that be lifting, running, boxing etc.

Lol I’m a circumcel and never had dink chaffing.

Had it around my inner thigh though, just applying some Vaseline seems to help me.

Nothing like wearing "skin" to run long distances with no issues.
Yes to vaseline on the bloody nips too, ( trust me)

Not bad. Are you running/training using heart-rate zones? Def use a heart rate monitor if you got it. Will help prevent burnout.

Keep building up the weekly long run u got it

Never had issues other than feet. Need GOOD socks. I use Feetures. Expensive, but you only need a couple pairs to rotate through. They last forever. Runner shorts with mesh lining and a normal running shirt to help wick sweat. Never wear cotton.
