IMO....
Was the guy a pos? Yes
Did he deserve to die? Def. Not
Was it a bit excessive? Yes...imo
My issue is with the whole concept of selective outrage that's become so prevalent in our society..let's be honest..the ONLY reason this is a story is because of race. Honestly...how many black mothers and fathers are going to lose children just in Chicago this weekend and are you going to make the same stink? IF you truly want justice to be served or want changes made, try focusing on the big picture and not a single tragedy used to push certain agendas.

Depending on circumstances, one can argue the homeless dude was committing assault and the intervention was warranted. It still likely wouldn't justify lethal force. He will be held responsible for the death even if he didn't intend to kill him. At the very least, it's manslaughter. At worst, it's murder.
I think the charge is fine, and the jury will definitely convict on this charge.

I still haven't seen a video of the incident, is there one?
IMO, the marine should prepare his anus. It's only a question of how much anal preparation.
Did the homeless dude physically assault anyone? If so, still not justified.
Was the homeless dude yelling abuse in someone's face? If so, still not justified.
Was the homeless dude just yelling homeless nonsense? If so, still not justified.
That's the thing about applying the RNC. There's a distinct and very noticeable point where your target just drops all resistance and flops like a bag of potatoes. That's when you know they're out and you need to let them go because they are henceforth neutralized.
It takes a decent while to kill someone from a blood choke, even after unconsciousness. You don't have much of an excuse if you're conscientiously holding someone in it to the point of death when you know you've already put them out.
The real kicker IMO is that at no point, did it occur to the marine to think "holy chit, this isexactlylike George Flloyd and I'm the white guy here, I better bail out of this chit while I can!"

Back off, Warchild.

After reading 90% of the posts the defense of the marine is the mentally ill guys record which was unknown at the time.
He would have been a hero if he subdued not killed and that is where the major disagreement lies.
imagine a world where if we disliked someone or knew their record and just choked them out of life.
Restrain vs. kill.

He knew that when he did it.

It seems like perhaps that's what happened.

Greg Price
@greg_price11
Jordan Neely got 4 months in jail for attempted kidnapping of a child and got no jail time for attempted murder of an elderly woman or any of the other 40+ charges on his rap sheet.
But the Marine who put him in a chokehold after he threatened to kill people on a train and tried to help him before he died now faces 15 years in prison.
