When it comes to trying to explain natural suffering (not caused by humans) the godcels struggle even more, and the answer always is a variation of god working in mysterious ways.
The only theodicy which has made any sense imo is where God Himself lives out the lives of every being. In due course, God will retain omniscience because He'll get access to your epistemic privacy and subjective perspective...and keep omnipotence because while you get libertarian free-will it's still God doing all of the actions. In reality, there is no "you" which would be somewhat of an illusion.

As to WHY God wants to experience all of the horrible things that occur to animals of all kinds...you could just say it's due to His largess and accommodation of "every purpose under Heaven".

So, panentheism.

And religious writings of ancient times would be people's various mystical and philosophical ideas set down in writing...good, bad, true, fake...a big mix of documents with varying degrees of insight and uselessness.

I think most people's theodicy is going to fail out of the gate because they're going to treat God like He has an individual perspective like a human does, along with human purposes, attitudes, personality, etc. A being with a perspective is limited, which by definition cannot be God (imo).

There are over 500 prophecies on Jesus alone that attest to the Bible being true. In fact we have all sorts of evidence. There’s actual evidence of God’s existence in Christianity. First of all there’s proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in historical since the writings of Tactitus, Joseph Flavius, Pliny the Younger and other historical documents prove that He was living 2,000 yrs ago, that even scholars of religion & atheists attest to.

I’m going to give you historical and archaeological evidence, for God’s existence as the Scrip have prophecies that pre-date the events recorded by them by several millennia including Matthew, Zachariah, Hosea, which prophesy of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after 1900 yrs of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 AD spoken by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and retuning to their homeland (only people to ever do so, to come back & rule it in the history of the world btw), after the Holocaust in 1948, exactas Jesus described.

The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would a rise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes, Persians, & Roman Empire. As well as Saladin & Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. This is impossible for any man to predict.

Now we can get into the farce of evolution as there is no proof we descended from any common ancestor of ape, nor is abiogenesis mathematically possible. 13 billion odd years is nowhere near enough time to randomly stumble upon the information required to build life. There is a finite number of life forms(generation), because time itself is finite in relation to life on the planet. It's not possible.

From the very first book of the Bible with that long list of genealogy as it lists Adams descendants, we already know the Bible/Torah to be true.

How would man be able to conceive a message within people names that would attest to God’s Son dying on a cross thousands of years later.
Please explain how a group of desert dwellers from the Middle East would know or predict this..

Because it's been re-written a few times.

And the descendants of the people who originally wrote the old Testament say Jesus is full of chit anyway.

I don't consider the Bible to be mostly historical in nature, don't consider Genesis to be historical, don't think the Trinity is coherent...there's a lot we're not going to agree on.

I see the teachings attributed to Jesus to be stoic in nature, but think there's some rather large issues with the gospels which Erhman points out in his various arguments.

We're really on different pages tbh, but I would agree that Jesus's two commandments line up with my feelings on panentheism and those are the moral guidelines I consider paramount.

Love God (Being itself) and love your neighbor as yourself (because you are essentially the same, both partaking of the same Being)

Perhaps it was or wasn't but another thing to ponder is how long is between the dead sea scrolls and Moses?

That’s good that you agree with His teachings, I’d have to say that society & people on a personal level would be much better off following His teachings & the Ten Commandments.

But going back to what I said about Genesis is that the great discovery is that the Bible is a message system: it’s not simply 66 books penned by 40 authors over thousands of years, the Bible is an integrated whole which bears evidence of supernatural engineering in every detail.

A remarkable example of this can be glimpsed in Genesis Chapter 5, where we have the genealogy of Adam through Noah. This is one of those chapters which we often tend to skim over quickly as we pass through Genesis it’s simply a genealogy from Adam to Noah.

But God always rewards the diligent student. Let’s examine this chapter more closely.

In our Bible, we read the Hebrew names. What do these names mean in English?
Let’s take an example.

The Flood Judgment
Methuselah comes from muth, a root that means “death”and from shalach, which means “to bring”, or “to send forth”. The name Methuselah means, “his death shall bring”.

Methuselah’s father was given a prophecy of the coming Great Flood, and was apparently told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld; but as soon as he died, the flood would be brought or sent forth.

If there is such significance in Methuselah’s name, let’s examine the other names to see what may lie behind them.

Adam
Adam’s name means “man”. As the first man, that seems straight forward enough.

Seth
Adam’s son was named Seth, which means “appointed”. Eve said, “For God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Enosh
Seth’s son was called Enosh, which means “mortal, frail, or miserable”. It is from the root anash, “to be incurable”, used of a wound, grief, woe, sickness, or wickedness.

It was in the days of Enosh that men began to defile the name of the Living God.

Kenan
Enosh’s son was named Kenan, which can mean “sorrow, dirge, or elegy”.

Mahalalel
Kenan’s son was Mahalalel, from mahalal which means blessed or praise; and El, the name for God. Thus, Mahalalel means the “Blessed God”. Often Hebrew names include El, the name of God, as Dan-i-el, “God is my Judge”, etc.

Jared
Mahalalel’s son was named Jared, from the verb yaradh, meaning “shall come down”

Enoch
Jared’s son was named Enoch, which means “teaching, or commencement”.

Methuselah
Enoch was the father of Methuselah, who we have already mentioned. Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah. Enoch received the prophecy of the Great Flood, and was told that as long as his son was alive, the judgment of the flood would be withheld. The year that Methuselah died, the flood came.

Enoch, of course, never died: he was translated/raptured. That’s how Methuselah can be the oldest man in the Bible, yet he died before his father.

Lamech
Methuselah’s son was named Lamech, a root still evident today in our own English word, “lament or lamentation”. Lamech suggests despairing.

Noah
Lamech, of course, is the father of Noah, which is derived from nacham, “to bring relief or comfort”

So let’s put it all together..

Adam - Man
Seth - Appointed
Enosh - Mortal
Kenan - Sorrow;
Mahalalel - The Blessed God
Jared- Shall come down
Enoch - Teaching
Methuselah- His death shall bring
Lamech - The Despairing
Noah - Rest, or comfort.

“Man (is) appointed mortal sorrow; (but) the Blessed God shall come down teaching (that) His death shall bring (the) despairing rest.”

Here’s the Gospel hidden within a genealogy in Genesis.

You will never convince me that a group of Jewish rabbis conspired to hide the Christian Gospel right here in a genealogy within their venerated Torah

-Courtesy of Chuck Missler..Thad if you listen to any of his teachings, one cannot deny the Judea-Christian God

Lol @ not a word on protecting children. Pretty sure raping kids falls under "thou shalt not commit adultery." You are argumentative without having a point and just want to argue. TROLOLOLOLOLOLOL gfy.

When you analyse the original texts in context with the time and an understanding of the author and their culture, there's nothing remarkable. The impressiveness of the prophecy is inverseley proportional to how closely you analyse it. This is the reason such a large proportion of biblical scholars don't believe the bible to be inspired.

These prophecies are vague, self-fulfilling, probable and in often cases anachronistic. When disected what you are left with is a text that is unremarkable compared to similar texts of the time that did not make it into the corpus, and are riffs on popular ideas at the time.

To prove my case in point, please narrow down these 500 prophecies into one that holds up, point me to one of these examples that you hold in such high regard as evidence for the divine authority of the bible?

And answer me this - why don't you hold prophecies about the coming of Muhammad in similar high regard?

Regarding evolution - I don't care, all I'm stating here is that YOUR claims are absolute tripe.
The prophesies aren't vague in the least. False prophets speak in vagueness. God's true prophets are telling you exactly how it's going to go down.
I'm not blessed with riches, but I am rich with blessings.
Thank you, LORD, my God.

Gotta remember that the people back then were barely more than animals. Getting them to pay for their transgressions and then forcing them to marry (and provide for) the girl who is essentially ruined (nobody would marry a non-virgin back then) was a HUGE upgrade. Taking the stories from the dawn of civilization and using it to justify a lack of divine presence in our own is a cope. Get behind me, Satan. nowutimsayinbrahamirite

Godless-cels explain these:

How can non-physical attributes (i.e: consciousness, a soul, emotions, the feeling of pain, memories, etc) arise from something physical? Do you assume "science" can solve this?

How was the universe created? If you say the big-bang, what allowed for and created for the conditions of the big bang to happen?

Is there such a thing as objective morality? Who determines it?

How do you address the notion that the "belief in a higher power" is actually a natural and possibly evolutionary phenomenon and is seen cross-culturally in nations that have never interacted with each other before?

If you took a Shakespearean book, re-arranged all of the letters and randomly sorted them, what are the chances it would be sorted back into that exact same book?

Do you believe physical processes can explain all that there is to know about the universe? Do you believe these physical processes are completely blind, meaning that they haven't been directed in any sort of way to create humans and the universe that we know of today?

Is "science" ie the observation of physical processes and behaviours the only way to gain knowledge and truth?

The chances of life forming worlds existing is infinitesimal, but the universe is big beyond our understanding so there could be countless life forms.

We evolved hormones and emotions over millenia, they help us react to our environment and survive. This is explained fairly well by J. Peterson and his lobster tales.

Unlike lobsters we also developed higher brain functions like self awareness and critical thinking which made us question how we came to be.

In spite of overwhelming evidence of primordial evolution, godcels still cling to their garden of eden and Jerusalem cruiser godpill fairies.

First answer: This is not a logical response and is purely theoretical so you need to bring evidence. In observable reality nothing is actually infinite, it has a beginning and it has an end. By extension, the chances of life NOT forming would also infinite since there would be an infinite number of worlds that do not have life forms. There "could" be other lifeforms, there also "could not" be other lifeforms. However, the latter is more supported based on evidence we have so far. One could say, well maybe once we develop technology we could find these other life forms. But that is also an assumption.

Second Answer: Wrong because humans have developed many characteristics that are not necessary for survival. Consciousness, sentience, being able to discern and reason truths all aren't necessary for survival. Trees have lived for 100s of years, yet do not have any of these. Many animals and other species far outlive human beings, yet they have not developed these same faculties that we do have. It's not an evolutionary requirement for survival. Sometimes holding erroneous, or false beliefs can actually be adaptive for survival, despite being an obvious bias. It still does not explain how something PHYSICAL gives rise to something that is NOT PHYSICAL. How does a bunch of atoms and particles create human emotion and sentience? Also lol @ quoting Jordan Peterson.

Third Answer: Why did we develop higher brain functions like self-awareness and "critical thinking" which made us question how we came to be? What use does questioning how we came to be have from a survival perspective? If anything, such thinking uses up a lot of oxygen and resources, nutrients, etc which would not be advantageous for survival. As I explained in my second answer, evolution can't really explain that. Believing in a creator of the universe is the default position, and even studies have shown in children to have a propensity to ponder about a creator without any prior learning. It is atheism and these other non-sensical beliefs that change a person and cause them to go against their nature.

Not really debating Christianity or religions in general, but just the concept of a creator/God. The credibility, logic, reliability of religious texts is another debate. Christian texts seem to be a lot less reliable on the whole, Islamic texts seem to be better preserved and at least have a chain proving authenticity.

Consciousness/qualia doesn't suggest God, but does introduce a problem for God's omniscience. To get the knowledge of the contents of your subjective experience, God either needs a copy of it or has to be you experiencing it for the first time as 'you'. Then Occam's razor cuts off the copy, and you're probably left with panentheism or pantheism or else God doesn't know everything. Similar issue with personal action and omnipotence...

Can God exist and not exist at the same time?
Do you consider the physical body dying to be death?

Oh my, it's almost like it doesn't add up?
That's the old testament - this is a time period where people periodically conducted child and human sascrifice in rituals

Why don't you take at Numbers 31 and tell me how god views children.

Numbers 31, set in the southern Transjordanian regions of Moab and Midian, narrates how an army of Israelite soldiers commanded by Phinehas (commissioned by Moses and Phinehas' father Eleazar) waged a war against the Midianites, killing all men and boys including their five kings, and taking all livestock, women and girls captive. Moses instructed the soldiers to kill all women who had ever had sex with a man, and to keep the women and girls who were still virgins for themselves. The spoils of war were then divided between the Israelite civilians, soldiers and the god Yahweh.[3][note 1]
They slayed the nations of evil doers - i.e., people who sacrifice young children to false gods, etc.

The old testament sounds ruthless, because during that time the world was very very ruthless - like in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah there was not a handful of good people around

Sometimes it's easy to forget that God has the final say on things and how life should be run and that's to protect other people's free will - so you can imagine how bad things must have gotten in those periods.

Here is my problem: When you look at each one closely they fall apart.

Regarding evolution - I don't care, all I'm stating here is that YOUR claims are absolute tripe.
the prophecies of Muhammed? there are none lmao
