Yeah, it seems anyone who challenges the narrative is either dishonest, acting in bad faith, or both

Just lol

No, but someone who concedes that Omicron was less severe than Delta, thenchanges their stance on that and then keeps trying to argue the point whilst insinuating that I'm responding to a post from years ago....that'sbad faith. In case you want to play dumb on how this applies to you, let me spell it out:

You responded to a post asking you if omicron was less severe than delta with a study about similar heart-related mortality; I pointed out how that's dishonest because it's not looking at the big picture and then posted an article from the BMJ showing how yes, Omicronwasless severe, and you accepted it as true. However, then you suggested that my point about your comment (the one not comparing omicron vs delta correctly) was meaningles/cherry-picked was actually me responding to a post from years back "based on available data at the time" instead of yesterday. You've also then changed your mind and are now implying that no, omicron isn't less severe.

In other words, you're arguing in bad faith and moving goal-posts because you can't bear to admit that you're wrong, and to accept for good and all that omicron was less severe. All this despite thefact that, yes, it'sbeen recognisedas beingless severe.

No.

But I suppose pretending this is the case is good faith 'round here

Case in point, bad faith from you yet again; quoting yourself here from pg.11, post#304 when I responded to you at the beginning of this in relation to pg.12, post#347. You insinuated earlier that I was responding to a post from years back when I never was, and yet here you are insinuating that my discussions with you had anything to do with this post when they never did.

Once again, bad faith, moving the goal-posts; just your usual spiel, and all because you can't bear to accept thefact that, yes, Omicron'sbeen recognisedas beingless severe than Delta.

Suggesting page 12 precedes page 11 is considered good faith?

I tried to bring the thread back on topic after others were misrepresenting facts (many/most countries don't recommend vaccines for those under 55). While that assertion is untrue, it supports the narrative and is therefore all good.

And you’re just deflecting from the main point, which is that many advanced countries are no longer recommending these injections for the majority of people in their countries. It also deflects from the point that the reason countries stopped administering them in young people initially is because of a clear signal that tied the injections to heart issues.

You’ve also shared information that said omicron is as severe as delta, and still believe it to this day. Your track record isn’t very good.

And I’ll leave you to ramble by yourself and hope that posters who care to discuss the topic will get the thread back on track.

To get back on topic, since you didn't have thoughts the first time:

After how long it took him to finally admit it’s less severe, it’ll be hilarious to see him switch back to his previous stance. I guess in addition to being extremely slow, we can add inconsistent to his list of traits.

Yeah. Gotta be very selective to support the narrative. Take one and run with it while ignoring anything you don't like.

I don't agree with the approach, but I understand why folks do it

You keep on believing its more severe than Delta though.....
103 million Americans were infected in 2020, with the OG virus. But even MORE were infected during the Omicron first wave that was only about 2 months long, yet a fraction of deaths resulted. Omicron at first was only about 8x less lethal. It became even less lethal after the first wave, about 0.02% infection fatality rate, or 1 in 5000. By now it's probably half that. As time has gone on, the age of the deaths has skewed older.

-Before Omicron most of the people dying with or from Covid were over age 70
-Since Omicron most of the people dying with or from Covid have been over age 80.
-Usually the killer is the pneumonia that they develop.
-#1 comorbidity? Dementia.

Interdasting:
-when patients die of pneumonia developed by having the flu, per the CDC they're a pneumonia death.
-when patients die of pneumonia developed by having Covid, per the CDC they're both a pneumonia and a Covid death.
-Hmm.

Long Covid is mostly a myth, even more so since Omicron of the last 2 years. The far majority of infections are completely asymptomatic. Most of the rest are perceived as either allergies or a common cold. Even during the initial Omicron wave, when it was far more novel to the population ~42% of infections were asymptomatic. By now? Fugedaboudit. You've probably had Omicron 2-3 times, I probably have 3-4 times. Given his job, Dave probably has been infected 5 times or more. It has spread so routinely that our immune systems are waxing its ass right away. Meh.

Of course there are severely immune compromised people in the world. Different story. A common cold can take them out too.

let's rename it "long symptoms", not long Covid.
1.long heart problems
2.long ringing in the ears
3.long fatigue
4. and long term loss of taste and smell loss for 2+ years.

so yes some of these exist and were not present before Covid

You're still standing on those floor stickers that say stand 6 ft apart, aren't you? How hard do you coom when you see a store still has arrows pointing which direction to walk down an aisle?

Schools closed for a year to a year and a half wasn't exactly cool. You've never been inside a gym so we know those being closed didn't bother you. Suicides and OD's (many of them suicides) went way up. You should've gotten in on the movement.

He got vaxxed and boosted because of his family, then he changed his story and did it because his job made him.

Same with saving his masks and testing kits, because there was gonna be a future, winter surge, then he changed his story and said he wears a mask when he mows the lawn.

Benny gonna Benny, otherwise he wouldn't be Benny......

Of course there are severely immune compromised people in the world. Different story. A common cold can take them out too.
I probably had it three times, but I'm not gonna take a test every time I get the sniffles.
