yeah that is what i thought that one turbo spins up first and then the second spins up some time after it, idk if all twin turbos are designed that way but i know some are, a smaller and bigger one.

It requires the same amount of air and fuel to produce that 500hp regardless of cylinder count

The difference is the smaller displacement will be under a ton more stress doing it, meaning far less efficient & more prone to failure

Turbos are for 2 things.......throwing as much boost down the throat of the strongest V8 you can afford to make it the fastest it can be before bending a rod or lifting a head AND Big Diesels so they can have the torque to pull a house off it's foundation.

and nothing in between.

ROFL Sure it does. Maybe if you only count freeway miles. Once you add in all of the idling at stop lights and stop signs it's more like 8MPG. And that doesn't even count the supercharger.

It’s position between these blending tables is indicated by the OAR Figure which will be somewhere between a best of -1.00 (High-97) and a worst of +1.00 (Low-93) A middle position is an OAR of 0.00 (95)

Has anyone asked why we need 500-600hp in a half ton?

We bitch an moan about the bloat in price but keep stuffing screens and bigger engines in, it's way past what anyone needs a typical half ton truck for. Why cant we get an overbuilt 300 horse engine, focus on mileage and reliability instead of headline horsepower numbers.

91 is required if you want to see those performance numbers and fuel mileage especially in the hot summer months. I'm familiar with the concept of variable timing but I'd never run 87 in a FI engine. It will run like hell.

These TT6's STOMP normally aspirated V8's in torque. Just look at the torque curves of any of these modern FI engines. 90% peak torque (425'ish foot pounds) comes on at 2300RPM, and peak 475 foot pounds at 2850 - 6000RPM. Where as the 5.7L is only 410 foot pounds from 4000-4400RPM.

This motor has an individual turbo per 3 cylinders, Ford Ecoboost V-6's are the same way. They are parallel turbos, not sequential turbos like you are thinking.

And before you try hard V8 guys get your panties in a wad, I have put over 110K miles on my 2014 and 2020 6.4L Jeep SRT's over the last 9 years, and have almost 80K miles on my 2020 Ram work truck.

This new Hurricane motor is legit, and should be REALLY nice once they utilize it with a hybrid system.
