All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Or is that you're dedicated to a position taken prior to data and an unwillingness to consider the subsequent data?

No evidence was found that adults who tested positive in 2022 were experiencing this increased level of impairment at a higher rate than than those who tested negative, or those who simply had the flu.
“However, we found that therates of ongoing symptoms and functional impairment are indistinguishable from other post-viral illnesses,” he continued.
The bold is ironic if it turns out to be true - so instead of snide "no one ever had heart attacks before Covid" remarks maybe it'll turn around and be a case of "no one ever had post-viral complications before Covid" ?“However, we found that therates of ongoing symptoms and functional impairment are indistinguishable from other post-viral illnesses,” he continued.

Occasionally respiratory viral infections can have complications (i.e. decreased lung capacity) that last after the infection is over and take awhile to fully recover from, but there was never evidence that it was as prevalent post Covid than post flu. Reports about 'long Covid' are self reported.

lmao. Now that deaths are below that of the seasonal flu (at least for the US haven't bothered to look at data for other countries) all of the Covid nuts have pivoted to long covid. Easy enough when your average autist with mental health issues can just claim they have long covid.
Oops.

A UK national study of Long Covid at 1-year (preprint) longitudinally assessed 351 patients who required hospitalization and over 2,900 matched healthy controls. The cognitive deficits were marked and equivalent to the impact of 20-years of aging. Furthermore, biomarkers of brain injury indicated the process of tissue damage was persistent, and the loss of grey matter adds further to the concern on the extent of the hit.

Here's a good read on how a lot of long covid studies are full of it. For the above study I'd love to see the demographics of the control group. The problem with a lot of these studies is anyone can claim they have long covid. The type of person that would sign up for a study like this is one that has extreme anxiety around covid and is likely to think every little thing is a symptom of long covid. If they have other undetected health problems it's going to mess with the results and show up in the testing. Hard to make any sort of conclusion based on 113 people.

But that doesn't apply to the study Topol posted.
Are you suggesting the effect sizes would be smaller with a larger sample size? Why?
