What kind of people do you admire?

What types of people/professions do you either admire or feel inspired by?

For me:

Entrepreneurs of any kind regardless of income. 30k or 300k it takes balls to forgo a rulebook and go all in on something. Takes balls and drive which most people lack.

Doctors. Dedication to learning the materials and practicing the craft. Have always admired them and considered pursuing it myself a bit. To this day stil enjoy ready medical literature, Atul Gawande being balmy fab author.

Anyone who works with the disabled. Have a big soft spot for anyone with the hands stacked against them in life through no fault of their own. Google “special books for special kids” to have your feels obliterated. I’d consider many people who do this to be pretty selfless compared to the majority of the population which is a rare quality.

Pretty much the same - entrepreneurs and doctors/surgeons, and some other medical staff if they seem competent (nurses, PAs) because I know what it takes to get to their level.

I'm kind of a war geek too, so I have a level of respect for combat vets.

People who use their turn signal.

Srs though, I don't admire anyone and I don't keep up with the Jones'. Though, I do appreciate people and the things they do/provide that I can't or don't do myself.

For me, it is anyone with a truepassion, regardless if it's being a surgeon or cleaning toilets. Someone who unconditionally and unabashedly has something they are willing to forgo everything else in life for. You don't see that anymore.

People who work hard with no recognition or work hard on their own volition vs being watched / told or expected too.

People who actually think about things and try to create an understanding or at least view the reasoning on beliefs or opinions that they disagree with at first.

I don't base it on what they do or what their status is.

I admire honest, real people. Doesn't matter color or creed.
Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;
Thus unlamented let me die;
Steal from the world, and not a stone
Tell where I lie.

I only admired functional alcoholics in my teenage years; is that a bad thing?
Thing is they were really driven for their family and pursued perfecting their crafts- carpentry and one was a Benz master tech - but their achilles heel was that they were hammered like 5+ days a week. they still got the job done and I thought that it was remarkable that they were still maintaining a respect for their work and family above the average miscer but they were just addicted to substances.

Can get behind this. I think that’s why I have always been big into entrepreneurship. Typically you have to have a lot of passion and drive to venture out and make something from thing, and that is respectable.
