Introducing: CLI MISC

I created a basic web scraper that displays the entire MISC homepage in the command line interface. It's pretty pointless in current form. You can view the first & 2nd page of a thread (lol) that's about it. Haven't worked on it in over a week but wanted to show the MISC regardless. As you can see, that GMiscer thread does indeed load. My ideal goal would be to parse poster/comments for readability & display images along being able to view any page or amount of pages & possibly do a POST to send back the HTML page with a comment in the reply section (if that's even possible). I made this on a whim while I was learning requests & beautifulsoup4.

Questions you may have:

1) Does "V" actually work?: That can be arranged, but prob won't lol I just wanted a mockup layout.
2) Does login work?: No, lol. Prob best to go off of whoever's account is logged into the browser (if post implementation is ever a thing).
3) Was this thread created using nerdy MISC?: Lol, No, but that's a cool idea (I think).

1) Right click on folder in GDrive > click 'download'.
2) Extract to your desktop/documents/download/etc.
3) Click 'climisc.exe'.

Windows will then run a quick scan to make sure file is safe (it is lol) and it'll load.

Can you make a clone of the misc but with a functional search and the ability to upload pics directly from your phone? Maybe add some rules like you can't post pics or threads if you're a red or If you're an account less than 2 weeks old?

Interesting topic.. I'll research it. This pretty much sends a GET request to the MISC section of BB.com, parses the HTML from the request, finds specific elements in the html that holds text like "user, thread title, comment, etc" and displays that text in readable format.

This was my foray into forcing myself to use cli more after my friends told me they do everything from there including opening spotify to listen to music.

AHAHAHA. I think the way to go about this is to take all the information you want from the misc and leave out all the noise (sort of like in the OP). You could have the ability to not see negative rep posters if you wanted since all of that information is in the html. As for a functional search, lmfao, I agree. Possible, but would send a lot of requests to BB servers depending on how many pages of threads & their comments you're sifting through.
