Wait… wasn't Trump ALSO the guy who said take the guns first, due process second?

Then again… he's the guy who criminally violated his oath of office to defend the Constitution so what else should we expect.

Currently if you burn the American flag(stupid, but IMO you should have the right) AFAIK, not much happens, however, if one burns a pride flag, that would be considered a hate crime and punishable as such.

So in essence, Trump is advocating for what the left already has in place. Punishment for burning their symbol/flag.

Is that actually true? That just burning a pride flag is a punishable hate crime? That's absolutely nuts. Unless it's done in an attempt to threaten someone; ex. burning a pride flag on a gay person's yard.

Yes it’s hate crime. Just like some kids burned rubber on a pride thing painted on the street and got charged with felony

The rule for the flag is that if it’s your flag you can do whatever you want to it. If it’s someone else’s, that’s when the law kicks in.

Well obviously it should be illegal if you're taking someone else's flag and burning it. You cannot destroy other people's property. But if it's illegal to simply buy a pride flag and burn it…. then that's ridiculous.

So, of course there is no "guarantee" of free speech. There are, of course, limitations of what is considered "free speech" which means there is no "guarantee."

Three teenagers were arrested and are facing hate crime charges after a woman’s Pride flag was burned and left in the street.

If they stole an American flag and burned it, it wouldn't have been a hate crime(which carries extra charges) That was my point.
