Men drive tradition, and when you have a generation of men that don't want to be husbands, you'll have a corresponding generation of women that don't want to be wives.
Marriage is what you make it.

Answering in misc lingo
What age did you get married? Post-glow
How old are you now? limbal rings fading
Are you still married? Yes, very much so
Are you happy? Very, there have been ups and downs because we aren't automatons, but we made it through them and have faith we will continue to
Why did you marry? Because we both wanted to have children, and we both wanted a traditional dual parent, committed home for them
Why do you think marrying was a good move? kids, careers, underlying contentment, social lives, right stage of life for that kind of commitment.
I'll add another. Do I think other people should marry? No, not particularly, I think it's a choice you should make for yourself

- Yes
Are you happy?
- No. Was up last night till 2am fukkin, then we got into some naked icewine and cheese in the kitchen which led to tequila and more clapping in the kitchen. Had to leave for work at 5:45am...never been more miserable.
Why did you marry?
- Love my wife and can confirm she loves me...but add to that mutual respect and understanding of each other plus strong physical attraction. Seems like a winning formula.
Why do you think marrying was a good move?
- Literally best decision of my life. There is always going to be challenges in life...avoiding things that may have serious challenges is a bitch move.

In after the few happily married brahs are drawn to this thread like flies so they can brag about how happy they are
And for everyone saying the reason was "to start a family" or "to stay together forever", why can't you do that without a goverment contract?

The Divorce Surge Is Over, but the Myth Lives On
It is no longer true that the divorce rate is rising, or that half of all marriages end in divorce. It has not been for some time. Even though social scientists have tried to debunk those myths, somehow the conventional wisdom has held.
Despite hand-wringing about the institution of marriage, marriages in this country are stronger today than they have been in a long time. The divorce rate peaked in the 1970s and early 1980s and has been declining for the three decades since.
About 70 percent of marriages that began in the 1990s reached their 15th anniversary (excluding those in which a spouse died), up from about 65 percent of those that began in the 1970s and 1980s. Those who married in the 2000s are so far divorcing at even lower rates. If current trends continue, nearly two-thirds of marriages will never involve a divorce.

Married at 23, age now 38
Are you still married? Yes
Are you happy? Yes
Why did you marry? Because I was young and thought it was the right thing to do since 23 year old me thought you had to sign a piece of paper that legally gave someone else everything you would ever make, own or have in order to live happily with the person you're already pretty much living happily with.
Why do you think marrying was a good move? Cold heart'd me doesn't think it was a good move, for me at least. I accept that it is an arrangement that is not in my favor if things go bad. But what's done is done and I became happier with it all once I realized all the happy wife happy life bs is just bs that makes neither of you happy in the long run. With all of that said, I still really like her. Which is different than just "loving" someone.

Got married at 30. Am now 35. I have been with my wife all together for 11 years.
Are you still married?
Yup. Two kids, a house, and two dogs later.
Are you happy?
Absolutely. Happiest I've ever been outside of the total no responsibility days of being a kid.
Why did you marry?
My wife is the coolest person I've ever met. I've never seen the appeal of smashing randoms (not knocking the entire dick measuring contest the misc is based on, just not for me) so marriage always seemed inevitable to me anyway.
Why do you think marrying was a good move?
I get to live with my best friend and do things to/with her. We enjoy our time together but also allow each other time to do our own **** when we want. I get to raise two awesome kids with her, travel, go through life with my best friend. For me, it's perfect.

Are you still married?
Nope, separated in 2012, decree signed in 2013. We were together for 12 years, she was my college sweet heart.
Are you happy? Yes
Why did you marry?
Social pressure after being together for 6 years and owing a home together. Both parents were always asking "whats next"??
Why do you think marrying was a good move? it wasn't for me, I married too young and for the wrong reasons and dam lucky I got the house, animals and all of my man toys (guns, atv, dirtbikes, ect)

I dont even know what state of mind a man needs to be to sign a piece of paper and agree to get cucked by losing 50% of his income.
Or be in a situation where your married with kids and your wife is BBC hunting and theres nothing you can do about it while your cleaning up the BBC mess your wife comes home with in the process while you are talking about being together for the kids knowing damn well your a cuck.
I rather roleplay marriage give the ring and not sign a piece of paper if she does not want prenup she can go cuck someone else.
Enjoy your pre ejaculation dying missionary marriages cucks while im Ceo 10k a day slaying 9s and 10s.

Marrying is not for everyone. Dont marry someone bc of outside pressure including having a kid. If you dont trust her 100% she isnt for you.

Divorce is decreasing because of two factors. 1. More people today are not getting married at all. 2. A lot of people are too poor to divorce.
When you're living paycheck to paycheck splitting up and moving into your own house or apartment isn't an option so couples just stay miserable together. Seen it happen to a lot of friends my age.

Because we needed to to get in to my home country (I'm English she's Brazilian - we live in NZ)
Why do you think marrying was a good move?
Because otherwise it would have meant ending a perfectly good relationship. Honestly, if I was ballin' I'd be putting myself out there and not shacking up so soon but I'm 30 already with no direction/career aspirations and need to grow up. I need some stability and this offers it. I can't say it'll be forever, who knows. Luckily she has no intentions of having/wanting kids for another 5-7 years so it's all good. If it works and we grow old together and have kids, great. If we get to UK and it doesn't, ah well, at least we gave it a go.

25 married, 32 now.
Yes.
Church wouldn't let me bang her if I didn't
Play stupid games, get stupid prizes, get a whore from a club, tinder, work, get divorce and chit. Get a nice sweet girl from church/volunteer club, with a good job, stable personality, get a good life. Property in Australia is 1 mil average, you need dual income, both from good jobs to live that dream.
Work on your marriage, and always be open and transparent. Don't feel afraid to be possessive and insecure, if she has nothing to hide, she shouldn't be upset. I told my wife that I don't even trust myself, much less her. Told her not to trust me either. Hell, you trust your body to make a rep, and it still fails you once in a while. No one is infailable, so there must be constant pressure to stay honest to actually be honest. Those "I luv my babby gurl and trust her 10000%" chit is just that - chit.
Always try new things, have common interests and hobbies. Spend at least 2 hours a day doing something in common, and talking. Both MUST always be slim and good looking, no home for fat whales. Sexual attraction is 50% of a relationship, shape up or ship out.

lmao marriage threads never get old. At the end of the day though just do what makes you happy, which can be different for everyone. I personally would never get married because ive known male friends/acquaintences who have been absolutely ruined by it and i just cant force myself to risk it. Luckily i dont mind being alone at all, and staying in shape plus good genetics allows me to bang rando's from 21-50 which never gets old to me. If they do finally invent motherless wombs i will look into having a son though. Good luck brahs!
