I'm neutral on this topic, I'm just saying there are other 1st world countries that have figured out how to not have kids slaughtered like animals when they're at school. Maybe we should see what they're doing that we currently aren't doing as part of a brainstorm.

Obviously we need to ban all guns and put up more gun free zone signs.

1. Who would pay for them?
2. How is this not a fascist idea and violation of constitutional rights?
3. The ACLU themselves say it is a violation of rights to exclude people with mental illnesses from owning firearms (which was a MAJOR factor in the Trump administration rolling back the Obama era mandate)
Hypothetical situation: Would you be able to stop me from gaining entry to your home and stealing your firearms (assuming im one of the "mentally ill" who shouldnt own a firearm and that you own a weapon to protect your home)? What is to stop someone from stopping their shrink appts and evals and saying that the breech on their weapon exploded and turned their AR15 into scrap metal?

I get that gun control and whatnot seems liek the best solution for gun violence, but it absolutely did not work for the war on drugs and i am not suggestion easing regulations at all. I am simply suggesting that we provide people with opportunities to protect themselves. Murder is illegal, yet it still happens. What is a great way to even the odds? Educate and train yourself with a firearm. I'm sure as chit not going to target someone that is adept in firearm safety

Some people rob banks and get away with it. When has someone shot up a school and gotten away with it? The motivations are completely different.

Chalking up every encounter (like this) is nothing more than throwing out opinions
Shooting up a school and robbing a bank arent even in the same spectrum. Goals differentiate the entire situation.

I'm saying they are two types of people with totally different motivations, showing your analogy holds zero water, and you're arguing against that, so it means you think they are completely analogous.

Sure, the guys at columbine wanted to die, but it is absolutely unfair to say that all school shooters are exactly like bank robbers who want to go out in a blaze of lead. If that cruz kid wanted to die, he wouldnt have been apprehended“That is not dead which can eternal lie, And with strange aeons even death may die.” - The Nameless City by HP Lovecraft
