For all overweight people all I'd say is to eat healthy (not diet) and do only cardio.
Key is to do real cardio and burn calories. Like cycling or boxing.

Good luck, OP. I went from 265 to 133-135, took a long time but it's totally doable!

You can do it bro.
Although I wasn't nearly as bad as you, I still lost 115 pounds in a little over 10 months. (see signature)

honestly, you need to take baby steps or you'll just give up. you can't just drastically cut your calories over night. Chit won't work.
Sure do some cardio, do some light weight training....but don't over do it. The key part is slowly easing down your calories, cos lets be honest....your current daily intake has to be pretty excessive. If you're taking in say 4k+ (rough average, likely varies day to day but you need to look at it form an average point of view and also get it stablized....so no excessive binges, which will happen if you cut cals to fast). so yeah if say you're at 4k+ (try figure out roughly what you're at, im only guessing here) then you can't just suddenly drop down to say 2000 - 2500. Because you won't be able to sustain it, cravings will go through the roof.
start by doing basic stuff to gradually get the calories down (no need to excessively track initially).
- stop DRINKING your calories, no real need for soda/pop/alcohol/full fat or half fat milk etc just drink water or add some calorie free flavouring to it.
- sauces, find healthier alternatives
- add in more starchy fiberous foods in place of the more refined /processed junky carbs.
- avoid fried stuff
- avoid anything that involves a combination of cheese, high sodium and oils
- Try to add in some structure to what you're eating but slowly introduce it....roughly plan out meals. Give yourself less reason to just order in some junk food.
- if you feel like a snack, go for fruit, or BAKE up some homemade potato wedges (white or sweet), add seasoning - look up how to make them actually taste good from youtube. Far better than the alternative of a huge bag of chips.
Theres a load more you could do to, this was just off the top of my head. In short, like i said if you were say at 4k+ cals you need to edge it down slowly 200cals or so at a time and watch how your weight changes in response to it.....initially you'll be dorpping weight no matter what, just from the exercise alone, but it's not the lack of exercise that caused the issue in the first place.

OP if you have hunger issues then maybe going keto would help. It definitely has helped me this last year. You rarely feel hungry so it's been amazingly helpful in curbing hunger pangs before bedtime.

About the bike, I'm saying don't over-complicate things. People don't typically 'program' their cardio. Get on the bike, and shoot for a time period, say 20 mins. See how far you go. Up the distance, up the resistance, or up the time spent as you continue to do it.
Don't be a ******* worrying what your heart rate is and for how long, what your RPE is.... you literally could look at a bike and lose weight right now, you don't need to bother with that sort of stuff until you're trying to shed the last few pounds clinging to you. Just trying to give you unadulterated truth here.
edit: just saw your post, 3 lb. is not bad. Keep going. I was 5'9" 240 lb. and now I'm 5'9" 183 lb. I was 195 lb. six days ago.
