I don’t get it... can’t he pass the writing on to someone that wants and can finish it? There’s authors that have died that have people writing under their names.. I mean what would it hurt him to do that besides his ego. Should I even bother reading them? Will I go my life stressing about the ends of these books?

Pretty much.

I think WoW would have been out 2 or 3 years ago if not for the show.

Doubt it, he already said he rushed to get WoW out before the show passed and he trashed it cause it sucked. Took him 5 years to get AFFC and then 6 for ADWD which he rushed to get out before s1

He didn't even want to release ADWD at the time. He was actually forced to by the publisher.

June 2006: "Meanwhile ... I am still working on A DANCE WITH DRAGONS, and yes, I still hope to deliver it this fall, or by the end of the year at the latest"

October 2006: "I have half a dozen different projects on my plate, but the big one is A DANCE WITH DRAGONS, and I am going to be pushing hard on that in the weeks and months to come, in hopes of wrapping it up by the end of the year"

December 2007: "I do have some goals for 2008... the most urgent of those remains A DANCE WITH DRAGONS"

March 2008: "If I can deliver the book before the end of June, you'll see these in your favorite bookstore sometime this fall"

Feburary 2009: I am trying to finish the book by June. I think I can do that. If I do, A DANCE WITH DRAGONS will likely be published in September or October."

July 2009: "It is going pretty well actually, I am hoping to finish it by September or October that is my goal." "

ACTUAL RELEASE DATE: Mid 2011. He was forced to cut entire chapters by his publisher amongst other things.

From a character perspective she's annoying as **** man, makes dumb decisions fairly regularly and seems to skirt through the entire series on her overpowering sense of entitlement alone. Also, Emilia Clarke is one of the weaker actresses in the show in my opinion. Though she seems like a cool person.

Critikal (penguinz0) on Youtube read my mind: I sincerely believe the only way to salvage this is if HBO chalks these entire final two seasons as a big L and redo the ending.

D&D might not have just killed the end of GOT, they might not have killed the better part of a decade of build up, but they might have jeopardized the reception of future spin-offs.

Oh, and they also wrote off pretty much the last bit of entertainment.

Okay, so my optimistic interpretation of his departure from Brienne was that Jaime has undergone introspection and regrets all of the atrocious acts he has committed either on behalf of Cersei or to be with Cersei. Now he sees how her hatefulness influenced his past actions, and he hates himself now for all that he has done.

As an added bonus, Brienne is the most honorable person across the board who he knows, and in his state of remorse believes that he is either a fraud or beneath a woman who stood up for him as having honor.

Oreveryone actually is wearing their trousers on their heads and are being forthright morons. As pathetic as it is, "what you see is what you get" really has been their approach to everything.
E.g. "How did Dany get ambushedagainby Euron? Did she forget?"
D&D: "Yeah, she forgot."

Dany has learned to grow and overcome challenges, however she has (like everyone) bad traits, and in a very short space of time has endured massive amounts of trauma; breaking up with the man she loves, the death of her best friends, and the death of 2 Dragons.

She's been in back to back wars. One with the night king and one with Cersei, the fact that she lost so much is plausible given the context. Every character's worst traits come to the surface when they face overwhelming trauma.

The stakes are high in wars, and she's lost a lot in them. A very plausible context for her, as a leader, to lose a lot.

I don't think they've thrown away her arc, they've just made her arc from a benevolent leader with a tamed narcissism and bad temper, to her narcissism and bad temper taking centre stage after enduring massive trauma and (as we will probably see next episode) betrayal.

Something which (IMO) they've been hinting at being something she needed help controlling from Slaver's bay.

Some character's go from positive to negative in their arc, like Dany.
Terrific points that I agree with, but my own qualm lies in how it is as though they flipped a crazy switch on the narrative by forcefully cramming so many compounding factors that would, as you say, leave Dany very much too traumatized to think rationally, all in a highly condensed expanse in the show.

By factors, I'm talking about how Tyrion has been uncharacteristically incompetent as an advisor at just about every single opportunity that the script called for his counsel to blow up in their faces, or in this last episode specifically her "forgetting about Euron's fleet," to use D&D's own excuse.

ceizer1985 put it nicely: they're dumbing down Dany because D&D checked the clock and realized that they had to even the odds to make the final boss Cersei semi-climactic.

Little did they realize (somehow), hammering this all out in a handful of already questionable episodes is begging for people question their approach to getting to the same conclusion had they done so in a believable fashion. This could have been mitigated (like far too many problems with the last two seasons) with longer [normal length] seasons that allow the characters to undergo much more feasible transitions throughout their arcs.

I was not a Dany fan at a certain point, but after this episode, I just wanted to give the poor lamb a hug sitting at that table like someone passed a note around to be extra-dickish to the dragon lady. Hell, even the showitselftried screwing her over by happening to let a Starbucks cup slip into the shot and make it look like it was somehow Dany's fault.

First they killed Missandei, and now they're going to try killing Dany - that's like a war crime against eyebrowsalone, the kunts writing this dreck.

What ohiostate124 said: she basically passed the initiation, being told that she is "No One," as in, she's ready to be trained in the art of a Faceless Man such as himself, but she refused by (supposedly) sticking to her identity.

Although how merely killing her rival constitutes as proving that she is "no one" is another matter of the writers getting drunk on their own ideas. The fact that she manages to run off having stolen their face magic is a testament to this as well because one does not simply slice off another person's face and slather it over one's one to change their voice, and it stands to reason that a legendary death cult wouldn't allow such magic to the equivalent of a fraternity pledge who dropped out of the running.

The crux of the Faceless Man test was not physical prowess or even the capacity to poison, but to truly abandon one's identity. In their eyes, a Faceless Man does not kill for personal gain, vengeance, or for emotion (all of which apply to Arya), but based on the assignment given to deliver a life to the Many Faced God.

Where the show itself falters is how Arya's "debt," so to speak, for failing to assassinate Lady Crane was already cleared by the Waif, so her death merely placed Arya ahead in the initiation line. Killing the Waif had zero involvement in Arya abandoning who she is as a person, and to add further insult to the plot's injury, she killed the Waif using Needle - something she was explicitly told to abandon as an extension of her identity.

The show continues to muddy this by insisting on having others (i.e. her sister) refer to Arya as a Faceless Man, when she merely began training with them and denied their acceptance; Arya's entire arc has been struggling with death and the loss of her family, grief, pain, anger, and revenge, whereas the quintessence of the Faceless Men is to leave all of that behind, relinquishing one's self, one's "face."
I will stand firm, I refuse to kneel - The fury in me is divine
My dark grave awaits, my fate is revealed - But I'm not afraid to die

So it just doesn’t make sense lol my only hope is that the writing is so genius and mystical that whatever took place went over my head. I thought maybe when he said now a girl is truly no one or whatever that he was making a joke about the waif being dead lmao... but then Arya responded like he meant her.. so that went out the window. No point to go back and see if I missed something?

After this season the best ending for the show would have been for the Night King to curb stomp everyone

The writing has gone to **** and is a now a stupid parody of what it once was. It would have been an epic ending if the NK showed up and literally wiped absolutely everyone out and we never found out why for two reasons:

1/. It wouldn’t leave any room for the lame **** that’s been happening this season.

2/. It actually makes the White Walkers seem like a dangerous force. With the storyline we ended up with they look like a joke.

That absolutely would have been the best ending. We’ve been waiting for an ending to the show for 8 seasons and gone through so many theories. How much of a twist would it have been if the NK showed up and fuked everyone up with no explanation? Could have had a repeat of the Red Wedding. White Walkers show up at Winterfell and in the first 3 minutes of the episode kill off 5 main characters or something. That’s what the show used to be.

So Tormund is gonna come back and save the day in the next battle, right?

I mean, what's the point of him surviving the Battle of Winterfell only to hug Jon and head home the following episode?

The wildlings really have no business fighting wars in the south. He should have died in episode 3.

Idk would be epic, have him kill off a bunch of Lannister’s. Wildings vs golden company, the company is highly trained but wildings are just savage.

I think that really might be the end. They can return home with no threat and that’s a happy story for them. D&D is giving us happy endings no homo
