Retirement with friends and hobbies is friggin awesome. I can't imagine being retired with literally nothing to do, I'd rather be working.
Eat in a deficit to lose weight.
Hit your protein and fat minimums to stay healthy and keep your gainz.
Lift heavy and do HIIT to look and feel awesome.
Use the internet to learn why you should do these things and how to do these things.

Good thread OP.

For me personally, I’ve paid my student debt off and mostly work because I enjoy it. I’m blessed to have a job that I love so it really doesn’t feel like working at all. Honestly, I don’t ever see myself retiring unless I am physically unable to do the job. Being debt free means I’m not forced to work for the bills. I just work as much as i want to.

Other than work, I enjoy fitness and family. I spend a lot of time with the family and take care of my health. Once COVID is in the past, I have a lot of other interests that I am going to pursue.

Because you've become institutionalized, like a prisoner who can no longer function on the outside.

16 year old boys, balls full of cum, and not beaten down by life and "the rules" don't rot on summer holiday. They don't need a boss or teachers telling them what to do to give their life meaning.
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.

The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."

The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

Definitely not a hoax. We live in a Capitalism based country, anybody can make it, sky is the limit. So it's purely your fault and you fault only if you can't retire when you want.

Calling it a hoax is just cope for your own failures. The great news is you can change now before it's too late

If you want to know more how fcked our generation is:

https://forum.obnoxiousbrutes.com/showt...hp?t=179436943

Let's look at some graphs:

Younger generations are so fcked. Wanting a normal typcial middle class life is now getting harder than ever for the average western person. I'm also leaving out other metrics like the massive student debt some carry.

So cliffs:

- more productive jobs (aka more stress)
- stagnating wages
- no more life long guaranteed jobs with benefits like pensions, etc
- globalism making you compete with workers around the world
- rising housing prices
- basic living costs higher than ever
- unstable longterm job outlooks
- ...
All this is cope yet again. Go to Russia, China, or North Korea if you want to know what real struggling looks like. Truth is most of you don't work hard enough and want handouts. If you want retirement, go get it. There's practically nothing stopping you

this

People live paycheck to paycheck, double their income and then live paycheck to paycheck.

Its not definitely not easy for everyone but I know way too many people that are kind of dumb but still worked their way up to an early retirement.

40 hours suck, wish I could find a construction management position doing 4 10s. Maybe I'll find a company that will allow me to do so. It is what it is

No one seems to listen to me, but if you're very serious about retirement the fastest route would be buying a house with cheap property taxes and paying it off. Keep your COL below $1k and you don't really need to work all that much

Knew of this one girl's brother who was one of those super frugal (cheap ass) guys that was just all about saving money for retirement. When their dad died, he fought like hell legally to basically rob her of any inheritance, and he took every single penny and put it towards retirement. Not even a year later he got killed in a car accident. What was justice is one of the reasons he died in that crash was he was driving an old Honda that had almost no side impact protection and no side airbags and was hit by a pickup truck, and the reasons he slid sideways was because he drove on cheap bald tires. His wife who was just like him, is now fighting ovarian cancer which we know how that one usually turns out and it's not looking good at this time.
I'm like that guy, minus the tragedy and minus the inheritance (just a cheap ass mofo driving a beater worth not much more than scrap)

Srs response for you and the OP.

For me at least its not about retirement. There's a constant fear that you could be unemployable well before you intend to retire. Like how manufacturing used to be a good career until it got shipped overseas. I.T. used to be a good career until we started importing visa workers. Same thing could happen to me in my 50s, 40s or even 30s.

If I knew for certain I could maintain my income till I was 65 I would be spending a lot more money today.

So I feel like I need to save as aggressively as possible because the government and business may collude together to put me in poverty.

Americans are also retiring in South America. Cheap cost of living, beaches, cheap booze, and nice women. If life is rough and you can't retire by 50, South America should definitely be in the books

Anyone else worried about another 2008, but bigger? The Great Resetis very real. Since then, I cant help but think about the fact that another massive (created) crash is coming. Then what? We all know, or should know, that the central bankers and global elite want us in abject poverty living as serfs with no ability to move up. Can never shake that thought every time I try and envision myself comfortably retired at whatever age. MANY people got a dose of that in 2008-present

Not saying I dont save and have a plan, but does anyone else think about this chit all the time?
Great Reset isn't possible. How will bankers and big corporations like Apple make money?

My dad planned for his retirement, took the slow and steady investment route and worked hard at his job (to be fair, he loved his career), only to die of cancer at the age of 57.

That moment changed my entire worldview and I haven't taken a job or the concept of retirement seriously since.

They switch to a crypto social currency type system and the big execs/power players maintain their position in society by people even higher above them in the power structure.

Big bankers and corps like apple purpose is not solely about money and profits.

I'm 44, lost my job with covid - might get another one, might just retire now though..

December income
- Rentals + airbnb $7,718
- Gains on shares $26,635
- Gains on managed funds $2,881
- Gains on private equity $506

total ~ $29k NZD = $21k USD
