I know a few in the legal profession but I'm extrapolating from my own homeland here: High scores on bar exam make a barrier to all but the most privileged (not necessarily the most intelligent). Bar exams are what, offered twice a year, no? And there's literal months between taking your bar exam and finding the result.
That's a third of the year you need to support yourself without even being able to practice law. Even worse if you fail, which isn't uncommon. This makes passing the bar daunting AF unless you're living at home, or have the support of a headhunting firm etc.
And isn't the bar exam not all that relevant to practising law? Like having to take a test for being a plumber but you get trick questions on electrical wiring, guitar tuning etc.
So the issue is more class disparity than about race, but American history has unfortunately made class and race commensurate so bar exams did become kind of racist exams. So by having the bar exam favour the upper class you have an inherent means of preserving what's typically been a white profession.
Back off, Warchild.
Seriously.

I seem to recall a world-renowned BRAIN SURGEON who was black too... Yet libs detested him for some odd reason. It's almost like he didn't need them making excuses, or trying to help him or something. Weird.

Medical schools and residency programs are starting to do the same thing. Expect medical deaths to increase over the next generation, then watch these new attorneys who don't know the law trying to defend patients against these medical deaths. In both cases, the consumer will lose. Capitalism is about protecting the consumer, and allowing the markets to dictate themselves. This is the definition of backwardness, which leads to very bad outcomes

And if I've got this right, isn't the bar exam not all that relevant to the day to day practice of actually being a practicising lawyer? So if that is correct, we're not worrying about this producing actual bad lawyers.
And I wouldn't lower the standards for how things work in my country, because bar exams are actually only undertaken by those seeking to become barristers, not solicitors (defence attorneys and attorneys, respectively). Also a unique aspect of my alma mater was that when you did your law degree the actual practicising certificate is part of the degree so there's no wait between law school and actually becoming a lawyer. You are ready to go after you get your exam results from last semester law school. So there's much less of a privilege issue there.

-The number of essays on the exam will be decreased from eight to four, and the number of essay topics will be reduced from 14 to 10.
Seems like an intelligence barrier to me

Nuclear facepalm at you guys and your utter stupidity.
What I said was that I have a PhD stipend, which already pays almost 30k straight up and tax free. I supplement that with extra casual academic work which includes not only grading papers, but marking, lecture assistance, tutorials etc.
This all up, adds up to what someone on a 75k per year salary would earnaftertax. Which is like 52k NET.
Thought you had a gotcha, turns out you can't fcking read and just made chit up.
P.S Now my transcript is demonstrably paid for and coming, I think the list of lies you speak of is literally down to 1.

Which is like 52k NET..
