From a lifting standpoint it's not the best idea since you ideally want more protein than you're typically going to get from a vegan diet.

From an ethical standpoint I just don't agree with the argument. The world has always been about survival. Do you think a starving animal in the woods wouldn't eat you if you were its only source of food? Or if it felt threatened? It wouldn't care. Also, why don't we have the same view point on insects, bacteria, other living things? Who decides what should be ok to kill and what shouldn't?

There's always something in this world that's going to be the catch if you're trying not to harm any animals. What if your house/apartment built over animal shelters? What's the difference between eating meat you didn't kill and living in a house that you didn't drive the animals away from? What about being a server? You won't kill animals but you'll feed dead animals to others? So that's like saying you wouldn't kill someone but you'd go ahead and stand by while someone else did it.

Today's society just is the way it is and it isn't going to change.

I wouldn't ever go vegetarian unless there was long term evidence that it can be just as healthy as eating meat over a long period of time. The only evidence I've seen so far is the opposite, every vegan I've ever met is weird in some way. Either really pale and wrinkly skin, strange attitude like a hippy and either really skinny or overweight, with strange warped points of view about the world. noticed it too many times for it to just be coincidental
Remember the guy that gave up? Neither does anybody else.

Regardless of whether I'm trolling or not, you seem to think it's more ethical to slaughter non-sapient creatures over sapient ones.

I'd like to know your reasoning behind this, because that is some Josef Mengele level thinking.

Essentially you can't derive a prescription from a description, or an imperative from a value judgement, logically.

The foundation of any ethical framework is sentiment based, not logically based.

Logic just guides consistency and non-contradiction, can't create ethical objectives.

Your argument isn't logic based, your 'should' has no foundation in logic, it's based in sentiment.

Valuing sapient beings over sentient beings isn't based on reasoning.

Nor is equally valuing all beings. (Which I don't think any human being does, apart from sincere Jains. eg. Valuing the life of a dragonfly as much as a human being).

It's based in sentiment. It's non-rational.

I eat mostly chicken and fish barely any pork, guess it is a cleaner type of meat in my own thoughts plus chickens and fish are less aware than for instance a pig

And my body just digests fish and poultry better than heavier meats

Non-rational isn't the same as irrational.

(Meta) Values are non-rational.

If having values makes me irrational, then so are you.

True but there's ways around it and the people who feel strongly about it will find them if both are important
We don't need to consume the insane amounts of meat in the modern Western diet to survive. Of course almost all of us would kill and eat an animal if we were starving, but modern mass meat production would turn most peoples stomach to see up close. Also arguing 'well animals do it, so we should too' doesn't compute. We don't act on pure instinct like animals, and we reason morally about what is good/right etc. It seems obvious that hurting a pig/chicken/cow etc is different to hurting bacteria or insects. A creature's capacity for pain and suffering determine how it should be treated imo
There's always something in this world that's going to be the catch if you're trying not to harm any animals. What if your house/apartment built over animal shelters? What's the difference between eating meat you didn't kill and living in a house that you didn't drive the animals away from? What about being a server? Today's society just is the way it is and it isn't going to change.
You're right that it's impossible to avoid harming animals entirely. But that isn't an argument against trying to reduce it as much as possible. The most you can do is try to make choices in your day to day life that you feel cause the least harm to general animal welfare as possible, assuming it's something you care about. Also disagree that the world won't change. It's changing constantly. I agree with what Bustafapp said earlier, in 100 years we may look back at the current meat industry like we look back on slavery today.....

I eat less meat per say than I used to and certainly only occasionally eat red meat, primarily eating white meat (chicken, turkey) purely for health reasons.

We should probably reduce the amount we eat a little bit but as a dietetics student, the research shows that veganism isn't always a sustainable and healthy option. Vegans can argue that all they want but the data doesn't lie.

Vegetarianism or only eating fish would probably be more sustainable or optimal.

So to answer OP's question. I agree with some of what they say but not all of it, they are quite deluded and irrational emotional people. They need to think about the whole situation objectively.

This kind of my rationale too. I've unfortunately seen some of the videos on how animals are slaughtered and it depressed me horribly, but at the end of the day me refusing to eat meat will not change that. It's definitely selfish reasoning, which I fully admit. I enjoy meat too much.

I would but if I eliminate meat I'll legit have next to nothing to eat.

Most veges, fruits, grains, beans etc. destroy my insides so I just take a B12 shot and some supps and completely avoid most traditional "healthy" food.

except sweet potato, that sh*t is my vice. I don't care how much it hurts the hours afterwards.

I eat meat cause I like it. That's it. I'm not going to stop eating it no matter how many arguments are thrown against it. As far as I'm concerned animals have the right to live until ready to be eaten and the right not to suffer. I don't condone animal torture or suffering, and I hope that can change in near future.

People are free to record him, he's not afraid to debate by any stretch, if there was footage of him getting wrecked, you'd see it.

I'm a meat eater and going to continue eating meat (no pope), but his argument is philosophically sound, the best you can do is find hypocrisy within his own stance, but that's not really a counter argument against his main idea.

Also, how is this relevant in any way whatsoever to what vegans are arguing? You have options at your disposal that cause far less harm to animals and the environment than meat. Now, I'm not expecting your pea-brain to be able to comprehend any of this, but I look forward to your reply either way.
Vegan's are always making the claims "humans aren't meant to eat meat", "if the whole world goes vegan" so and so would happen. The point I'm trying to make is that those arguments only come from individuals who haven't lived in other parts of the world, haven't experienced howthe majorityof the world lives.

There are many places where you can't go grow crops year round, but you can find meat and animal products anywhere in the world.

Also, my pea brain understands what you're saying. The tools are at my disposal to become vegan, just don't make veganism a "worldwide" issue without understanding how majority of the world needs animal products and labor to survive.

I do agree that animals should be slaughtered as subjectively humanely as possible...so I try to buy local meat where the butcher slaughters the animals or has a farm he can verify treats the animals well (customers can visit for proof).

Yes; red meat consumption should be curtailed. But not chicken or fish.

Also grilled meats aren't healthy long term.

Getting enough protein from a Vegan diet needs work to make it sustainable and appealing while hitting your macros at the same time

Kind of too much work for me right now as I'm still living in survival mode

I think that's why most people don't give a chiet about Animals

Some Eastern Monks encourage Vegetarianism as part of their practice of compassion and elimination of cravings

Eating meat communicates all the wrong things

Killing Animals endorses:

stealing = taking away of another sentient life
ignorance
cravings
.etc

If you want people to be mindful of cultivating good values, encouraging vegetarianism is a good step
