Epic Meltdowns
We've witnessed some epic meltdowns in history, and in its popular vernacular, it can mean a disastrous event. Of course the Chernobyl disaster comes to mind, and that was a meltdown of a nuclear reactor which is as follows:
"a severe nuclear reactor accident that results in core damage from overheating. The term nuclear meltdown is not officially defined by the International Atomic Energy Agency[3] or by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.[4] It has been defined to mean the accidental melting of the core of a nuclear reactor,[5] however, and is in common usage a reference to the core's either complete or partial collapse."

Epic meltdowns and disastrous events are fascinating to me. Does anybody else know of an event or disaster that caused an epic meltdown or even many epic meltdowns? Anything in recent history?
